Verde Taqueria Expands: Neighborhood Taco Favorite Opens New Location in Peachtree Hills on Tuesday

ATLANTA, GA – July 29, 2025 – What started 16 years ago as a neighborhood taco joint in

Brookhaven is now growing into its next exciting chapter. Verde Taqueria, known for inventive

tacos, fresh margaritas, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe, is thrilled to announce the opening of

its newest location in Peachtree Hills on Tuesday, August 5.

Founded by four friends with deep local ties—through UGA, Georgia Tech, Woodward

Academy, and Dunwoody High School—Verde was built on the idea that a neighborhood

restaurant should feel like home. While the original crew of four is now three, the Verde family

has grown in the best possible way: two new partners have joined the team. One started in 2010

as a 17-year-old busboy and is now the general manager and an equity partner in the new

location. The other has been leading the kitchen for the past six years, and his entire family has

worked at Verde in some capacity.

"This new chapter is really special for us," says co-owner Pat Kenny. "I lived in Peachtree Hills

for eight years, and one of our other partners has an aunt, cousin, niece, and nephew who still

live in the neighborhood. It already feels like home."

The location itself also holds even more personal meaning. Verde Taqueria is opening in the

former home of Paul's, a beloved neighborhood restaurant and bar. "Paul's was one of my

favorite hangouts when I lived here," says Kenny. "My sister-in-law had her baby shower on the

upstairs porch—what's now going to be our patio. It's wild how full circle this moment feels."

Verde Taqueria has earned its reputation in Brookhaven as a go-to for families, date nights,

casual hangs, and great margaritas, all while keeping prices approachable and the atmosphere

unpretentious. The focus is on fresh, inventive tacos, warm service, and being a true part of the

neighborhoods it serves.

"Our mission has always been simple," says Kenny. "Serve great food, make people feel

welcome, and give them real value. We're not trying to be trendy—we're just trying to be good

at what matters."

With the new Peachtree Hills location, Verde also looks forward to growing its catering program

and eventually opening the upstairs patio for private parties and events.

"We're genuinely excited to be in this community," adds Kenny. "We're approachable, we're

present, and we can't wait to get to know our new neighbors."
